Of ear infections. … It is only November and we are already on number 2! Darn! I hoped he would outgrow these things, but obviously not. Sweet Mac is on round two of antibiotics to clean up a nasty double ear infection. Thankfully he is such a wonderful sweet baby that you wouldn’t ever know he was sick, except for he has the runny eyes, nose, and cough. But he plays and acts like he is as healthy as ever.
Mac is starting to be the most hysterical kid. With a dad like Wade, I am not surprised. He answers a lot of questions with yes and no (we haven’t really gotten the ma’am and sir down…he is only 16 months for crying out loud!) The other night I said, “Mac, are you a spoiled little boy or what?” He was eating ice cream from daddy’s bowl at 8:30 at night…bedtime is around 7. He looks at me and as serious as can be says “Nope!” I replied “Yes you are” and he looked back between bites and said “No, no, no, no, no” all while shaking his finger at me. He minds very well for his age. If I tell him to stay away from something, ie, the oven, he is pretty good at remembering. He will get near the oven and say “hot” but not touch it. He LOVES to eat. If I need him to stop what he is doing to eat, all I have to say is “ready to eat?” and he comes flying up to his high chair and tries to pull up to get in. He is still very independent when he is eating. A lot of times he will want to feed himself using his fork or spoon, and he is really good with it. I was shocked. Sunday for snack I gave him a cup of applesauce. He fed himself the entire cup (minus the last couple of bites I had to scrape up) himself, and dropped about half a bite on him. The rest was in his mouth. I was shocked he didn’t make the biggest mess. I am still working on the size of bites for him. He is prone to put rather large bites of whatever in his mouth, but besides that, eating as been super easy for him to get the hang of! He calls anything in a bottle his “ba”, but anything in a cup is “jewwccee, “ even if it is milk or water. He loves cheese, any fruit, cookies and crackers. He calls most crackers, cookies now though. I guess he knows cookies are better than crackers! His diet consists of no meat for now, and he eats really healthy. It is 90% fruit and veggies, with some bread, cheese, yogurt and potatoes thrown in there. He honestly likes the fruit and veggies more than anything though. He cleared his plate of green beans before even touching mashed potatoes…whose child is this?? I try my hardest not to give him anything really processed during his meals (snacks is another story), but sometimes you can’t get around it. I don’t have time to make everything he eats, but I try when I have time to make some meals ahead and freeze them.
We had a great Thanksgiving. I have to get pictures from Julie's camera. I didn't get many of Mac because he was sick most of the day. One of his molars came in, and he ran a fever for 2 days right before. It was pitiful!
