Let me tell you a funny story!
So as I posted a few weeks ago, we were told Baby McClendon #3 was a boy. We were so excited to add another boy to our family. Because I have two other boys I didn't buy anything until last week and I only purchased two Christmas outfits that were 75% off. He wasn't going to need any clothes, or "stuff" but I was sorta feeling guilty so that is why I purchased those outfits. Well this Monday I went in for my anatomy scan. The tech asked me if we were going to find out what we were having and I said "well, I was told at 15 weeks that it was a boy so I think it's a boy" and she went on her way. We had a few little issues with the ultrasound (my placenta is too low, and she couldn't get a good shot of the heart) so Dr. Phillips came down to discuss all of that with me. He left and I kept seeing the "leg" shot that you usually do to see the sex. She casually asked me who did my last U/S and I told her, not thinking much of it. She was looking, and looking, and looking, and then said she would be back. She had another lady come in and look too. I knew they were focusing on the baby's sex but because of the issue we had earlier I wasn't really sure that was it. Finally she said "did the other tech show you that the baby was a boy?" and I said, "oh it wasn't a tech here, I went somewhere else" and she and the other tech both sighed heavily and said "well, sorry honey, it is most definitely a GIRL" To say we were shocked is an understatement. The tech and gone to look at my file to see if she could see where they told me "boy" and apparently they take pride in not being wrong. Wade and I were both laughing out of excitement, nervousness, etc. It was such a funny moment! I contacted the place that did the 15 week and I won't go into details but the owner was under the impression that I had come back because she saw the "shot" the lady gave me saying that it was a boy, and she wasn't convinced. The tech who did it, however, never called me to come back, nor did she give me any indication that she wasn't really really sure. I am not mad because it is what it is, and it makes for a good story! I go back next month for another U/S so I am sure they will look again. But for now, we think she is a she and not a he! Now we actually do have lots of things to buy and do which is exciting!
