CHRISTmas

Christmas 2012 was a great one! We started off Christmas Eve with a visit from Santa Claus! Mac was a little hesitant at first, but jumped right on in there after a few minutes! He sat on his lap and told him what he wanted, and told Santa that we would have to go to CVS to get his cookies for that night! J

After dinner we ate a delicious dinner prepared by my Aunt Kappy and Uncle Weh. We really enjoyed the night with family! When we got home, Mac put the reindeer food and kept calling for the reindeer to come to our house! He had a blast with that.

We didn’t get to the cookies..but we can do that next year!  Christmas morning was an exciting one. Thankfully this year we were able to sleep in because Mac didn’t understand that Santa had left him gifts that were waiting on him. We all got up, and casually strolled into the living room where Santa had left lots of fun toys for Mac! Santa brought mommy and daddy a couch a few weeks ago, so he didn’t have much for us this year on Christmas. After opening our gifts at home, we went to Mama D and Papa D’s house for breakfast and more gifts. I should add that going along with the Christmas tradition of the 4 Dozier kids saying Luke 2: 1-20, the grandkids were able to say parts, words, etc (whatever was age appropriate) Well being 2, Mac had to say two verses, but stepped it up and said 3! He got a bonus for that! We skyped with the McCroskeys and MF and Elijah all said their parts. Trace and Powell Anne had said there verses in person the week before. After the verses, we ate our traditional waffle breakfast. I was very disappointed that the sausage to go with the waffles was not Conecha like usual, but I got sick on that when I was early pregnant with Wiley so mom thought I wouldn’t want it. I told her we had to have a re-do because it wasn’t Christmas breakfast without the Conecha! After breakfast, we opened more gifts at my parents then played with our toys until it was time for lunch at Geegee’s with all the aunts, uncles and cousins. We had a great time seeing everyone, and lots of them were able to meet Wiley for the first time. Mac was EXHAUSTED after lunch so we went home and rested before it was time to go to Wade’s grandparents for dinner.

After Mac had a nap, we headed over to Gam and Gampop’s for dinner with Wade’s side of the family. We ate a delicious dinner, then opened MORE presents…man, Mac was having a grand ole time all day getting all those goodies! We had to wait out the Christmas Day tornados before we got home, but when we finally did, Mac crashed, and so did I. I didn’t mention Wiley much, but that’s because nothing really happened with him. He ate and slept and was happy the whole time, like he usually is!

We headed over to Callaway Gardens for the Festival of Lights show and Mac had a ball! We would like to make that a yearly tradition! It is close, cheap, and Mac loved it!

It was really hard getting Mac back into a routine this week because we have been going going going like crazy and he has been staying up way too late, not getting good naps, and eating lots of junk food! No wonder he cried everyday this week on his way to school to stay home with Mommy (even thought I was going to work myself) I guess I am more fun!
Even with all of these fun things we have done, we tried to explain to Mac that it was really about Jesus’ birth. Teaching him parts of Luke 2 and trying to explain why we get gifts might not have really clicked with him yet, but we hoped that we planted a seed that we will continue to water all the time about Jesus and what He has done for us.
