Room update

The new room is starting to take shape. It has been a very slow process but I am trying not to stress about it. Wade is doing all the work and I just throw our some ideas here and there. I have some "during" photos. If you want a "before" just picture a room with blue walls and lots of stuff piled in there. It was our catch all room. The man cave will now hold that title so that Mac has a place to stay.

Here are some photos of the progression. First, you see where the two twin beds will be. If you look at the left bed you see a leg, but that is only for support until we get the beds "hung." Wade had this idea of doing hanging beds, so he is building them, but hasnt done the hanging part quite yet. Also, the walls are a light grey, and the beds are a darker gray. The pictures almost make the grey look green, but its gray.

Next you see the headboards taking shape. Because of the windows your options were, no headboard, a non centered headboard, or (what we chose) a wrap around headboard. Wade installed lights above each bed with a switch for each one, so that there will be an easily accessable reading light.

Here he has started painting the headboard. He was able to "roll" the larger section, but has to come back and do touchup for the headboard and the bed part itself later. Also, the light will be painted red. It is going to look really good with the grey I hope!

Lastly, its bascailly the same type picture as the one before. He is going to frame out the headboard so it looks finished, but didn't get a chance to this weekend.

We have an old toychest that will be painted red that will go in between the beds. I am working on getting a rug and then the rest of the "stuff" for the room is waiting to be hung, placed, and/or installed. Mac is getting very excited about his "new room" and just this morning he walked in and said "cool daddy," when he saw what Wade had done last night. We sit in there while while Wade is working so he can get excited about it, but anything Wade does, Mac thinks is amazing. He is such a daddy's boy!
