My Kids Attic ADVENTURE!
This week has been crazy! As you saw from my last post, I did quite a bit of shopping on Wednesday. Well yesterday topped off the craziness. The sale at My Kids Attic opened for the consignors (aka Mama D) and so Julie and I went to stack up on more "stuff." Wade was so nice and sat in line for up for a little while, then Julie and myself came later and sat out until we could go in. We were 8th in line, but after someone cut, we became 9th…There were some unhappy people about that one let me just tell you….These ladies were super hard core! Julie had the best idea which was to bring a ROLLING laundry basket. The tall kind. Most people had the short ones that they had to carry everywhere. Some had added leashes or belts to theirs so they could drag them, but oh my the sound was horrendous…Anyway, when the clock hit 4, we were all lead through the maze of that store where Julie and I peeled off, the rest of the crowed went to the "basement" (more on the basement later) I was going to see if they had any cribs that would be worth my while. I found one that I loved, but I couldn’t tell if it was sold or not. The girl wasn’t sure either so I picked out another (that I really didn’t like, but thought when Wade got there later he could tell me if he could do anything with it) and the girl told me she would find out about the crib I wanted and to check back. While I was cribbing it, Julie went to the car seat and stroller room. She found a great combo in the brand and colors I wanted! I am getting a new car seat for my car but we didn’t want to buy two nice ones, so we opted for used for Wades car. This one just happened to have a stroller with it, and there ya go. That was off the list. Next we headed down to the "basement" and OH MY GOSH. That was the biggest and craziest room of all. I was simi confused on what I needed and where to get it, but Julie and I split up (mistake because I thought I knew what I needed, but I did not at all!) and I was left confused in a little room. I just started picking up stuff that looked like I possibly MIGHT need it??? As I was walking out of the tiny room headed to the HUGE room, the girl from upstairs in the crib room came walking up. She had a big grin on her face. She told me that the tag was against the wall so we both missed it but that it was NOT sold and I could get it if I wanted. I kinda cringed at how much it might be since I had piled my basket up by this point. She handed me the tag and to my AMAZEMENT the crib was a whopping $30.00. Yes, $30.00. I could NOT believe it! That was the deal of the day for sure! Then I headed into the clothes room. The boys smocked outfits were lacking at this sale but I managed to find a few I liked. I grabbed those then finally found Julie and we started out pile along a wall. I just sat there and Julie went and found me stuff I would need, that I would have not known about and we just started weeding out stuff. Finally a few HOURS later mom and Wade came and we got our piles to exactly what we needed/wanted and we were off. Mama D did find a few things that she thought I needed, and my pile seemed to keep growing. Fine by me! I took them up to look at all the cribs and they said that I had gotten the best one and they both loved it so I thought I had done well. They could not believe how much it was when I told them! I cannot wait to get my bedding to put in it now that I have the crib! Anyway, by the time I got home I was exhausted! I hadn’t been this tired in a long time, but shopping can sure wear you out! I think I am done with the sales for a while (or until the ones for the Fall/Winter) but I am so glad I went and even happier that they were both a success!

Whew! I'm exhausted! haha! Sounds like you got some really great stuff. I wish I had gone. I've only been to one consignment sale, it was in Opelika and I went at the end of the week...was not impressed! The people there were, um, gross. I need to try the ones in Montgomery I guess!
