So much to be THANKFUL for!

On our first Thanksgiving as an expanded family, we really did have so much to be thankful for. We started the “festivities” by having my parents and aunt and uncle over for my moms birthday dinner. Her birthday was actually Monday, but she was out of town, so we celebrated when she got back. I made the WORLDS BEST shish kabobs. I usually do not praise my own cooking, but they were fabulous. This is an old family recipe that my grandmother (Mamu) used and we have made these things my whole life. This was my first attempt and they were just as good as they usually are. Thursday, we headed over to my parents for the annual Thanksgiving lunch. It was delicious as usual with everyone bringing the usual dishes. I made the gravy as I do every year and it was wonderful. Mac had no clue what was going on, but he was a very happy guy all day and let anyone and everyone hold him. It was good to let him see some cousins he had never met too. I think he looked so cute in his smocked turkey top! He has had a cold for about three weeks, so he can have good days and bad, but Thanksgiving was a good one so I was glad. Friday, Wade’s brother and sister in law came up for the weekend. We had a great time hanging out with them. We wished the Iron Bowl had gone our way, but besides that, we had a great time! Saturday night I was able to see Kasdin and Hunter and they were able to come over and meet Mac. It was kinda late in the day and he was not his normal charming self, but they were still able to see him!

In other news, my brother and his wife are having a little boy! (Due in April) Mac will now have a playmate that is a boy. I know he and the girls will play too, but I am glad that he will have a boy close in age to play with too!
