Three years!

Three years ago today I married my best friend! We were married in the same spot my parents were married at my grandparents house, and then had our reception at my parents house next door. All the planning and preparation that my parents put into our special day was truly amazing. I let my mom take hold of the planning after a few brief struggles and now that is the best advice I give my engaged friends. If your mama wants to plan it, let her do it. I was so relaxed that it was a wonderful day.


After being together for so long before getting married, I always wondered how long it would take me to get “sick of him” but honestly it is the total opposite. I am learning to love Wade more each and every day. It is amazing! We have done so much together while dating and married and every second we spend together is treasured. We have gone through a lot of good times, like High School graduation, going to college, trips, marriage, etc, and a lot of hard times, like loosing my best friend to a drunk driver, losing Wades mom to cancer. But all of those good and bad times have made me realize that we couldn’t be more right for each other.

As we are 5 weeks away from having our first child, while it is so exciting, it is a little sad that the “just us” time will be over soon. However, we are both so excited that we can bring a child into the world, and take on the task of raising him to the best of our abilities. I know that we will often times do the absolutely wrong thing (not on purpose, obviously) but we are so excited that God is giving us the opportunity to do something that a lot of people never get to do. We pray that our child learns the same things from us that we learned from our parents and turns out to be a wonderful, Christian husband one day. The world is so crazy now that it is a little scary to think about all that Mac will be exposed to, but we believe that if we give him a good foundation, and plant good seeds that he will be just fine.
